Don Hay looks to join exclusive group

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – It could be a record setting game.

The Vancouver Giants are home today to the Portland Winterhawks. Giants head coach Don Hay can earn his 600th career win behind the bench in the Western Hockey League. Only Ken Hodge and Lorne Molleken have more with 742 and 603 wins respectively.

The Giants have won two in a row and five of their last six games. They sit in seventh place in the WHL Western Conference, while the Winterhawks are in second.

Portland is getting three players back from the Canadian Olympic team – Nic Petan, Taylor Leier and Derrick Pouliot.

This is the first meeting between the Winterhawks and Giants this year. Puck drop is at 5 p.m.
