Construction worker dies after Mississauga mall collapse

MISSISSAUGA, Ont (NEWS1130) – A construction worker has died in the partial collapse of a shopping mall in Mississauga, Ontario.

Roof girders fell on the man, and rescuers spent nearly two hours trying to get him out.

It’s a closed worksite at the Sheridan Centre and there were no shoppers in the area.

Police and the Ontario Ministry of Labour are investigating the collapse; there’s no word yet as to what caused it.
