VICTORIA (NEWS1130) – The provincial government is warning BC is now running low on this year’s flu vaccine. This year a record-number of people rolled up their sleeves — 1.4 million British Columbians to be exact.
The Ministry of Health says there will like be temporary gaps in supply and availability as a result. The province is expecting another 8,000 doses to be shipped in and it has requested another 13,000 more.
Anything leftover will be available to you on a first-come first-serve basis.
The government continues to urge anyone who has yet to get a shot to do so as a preventative measure. Health-care workers are also reminding you to wash your hands regularly, to stay at home if you’re sick and to try and avoid all contact with someone who has the flu.
