Patrick Brazeau and Mac Harb to be charged: reports

OTTAWA (NEWS1130) – Formal charges are expected to be announced by the RCMP today as part of the Senate investigation.

There are multiple reports former Liberal Senator Mac Harb and former Conservative Senator Patrick Brazeau will be charged with fraud and breach of trust.

Harb retired in August under a cloud of controversy and Brazeau has been suspended.

They are two of the four Senators facing an investigation by the RCMP in relation to thousands of dollars in housing and travel claims which were paid out by the Senate.

The RCMP will be holding news conference at 8 a.m. (Pacific) today at their National Division, where they will read a statement regarding the Senate investigation.
