Olympic cauldron being lit in Vancouver

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – The Olympic cauldron will be lit in Vancouver, after all.

Following demands by the public, BC Pavilion Corporation says the cauldron will be lit tonight at Jack Poole Plaza at 8 p.m. for two hours.

PavCo is looking for private funding to help light it  again during the Olympics, possibly every time Team Canada wins a gold medal.

In that case, the cauldron would be lit for two hours beginning at 6 p.m.

Montreal and Calgary both lit their Olympic cauldrons at the beginning of the Winter Games in Sochi.
