Toronto police are investigating after a man was struck and killed by a taxi at Birchmount and Danforth roads early Wednesday morning.
The cab driver remained on scene and called 911.
The man, believed to be in his 50s, was rushed to hospital, where he died.
The collision happened around 1:45 a.m. Police said they were responding to a disturbance call in the area when the man was struck.
Alcohol may have been a factor in the crash. However, police say the victim, not the driver, may have been drinking.
Danforth was closed in both directions east of Birchmount for the investigation, but has since reopened.
