Body found in North Abbotsford

ABBOTSFORD (NEWS1130) – A body has been found in North Abbotsford this morning

A person out walking found the remains along the Fraser River near Walters Street around 8 a.m.

Cst. Ian MacDonald says the coroner and investigators from the Major Crime Unit are on scene. “Obviously there’s a lot of water, a lot of mud, a lot of debris. So, we have to be pretty meticulous in the recovery, both from the standpoint of evidence and officer safety.”

He says the body is quite decomposed and that it’s far too early to speculate on what happened.
