Metro Vancouver under snowfall warning

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – Environment Canada has issued a snowfall warning for Metro Vancouver.
Between five and 10 centimetres is expected tonight, with another five to 15 centimetres possible tomorrow.
The hardest hit areas will likely be inland and higher elevations.
There is also the risk of freezing rain over inland sections of the Fraser Valley.
Crews are already out getting the roads ready.
Murray Wightman with the City of Vancouver says dealing with snow on the weekend used to be a lot different with less cars on the roads, but now that’s all changed. “As far as what we can do out there during the day, be it a Saturday or a Monday or a Tuesday, it’s pretty much all the same now. The traffic volume is heavy so we have to work with that.”
He says he’s happy with how crews dealt with last weekend’s snow, noting the salting and sanding they did before the flakes hit made a big difference for driver’s safety.
