VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – BC Teachers have started weighing in on if they want to pursue job action.
President Jim Iker says he’s hoping the province will come to the table with fair and reasonable proposals. “Our members will be voting for the next three days and we’ll be releasing the results of the strike vote on Thursday evening.”
“We’re hoping that us taking the strike vote, and the results of the strike vote will put pressure on the bargaining table that we don’t want to have to resort to any kind of job action if we don’t have to,” he adds.
He says they want a fair deal for teachers and more support for students.
