Surrey Six trial hears talk of a murder plot

By

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – The Surrey Six trial has heard about a confrontation between the Red Scorpions gang and one of the men later killed in a high rise. According to key Crown testimony, a plan to get money eventually turned into a murder plot.

A witness being called “Person Y” says gangster Jamie Bacon had a feud with rival Corey Lal.

Court has heard Lal was eventually told to pay $100,000 or pay the consequences. When he didn’t put up the money by the deadline, Person Y says a plan was hatched to commit a murder/robbery.

Person Y says something had to be done to prevent the gang from looking weak.

Person Y says he refused to take part in the robbery/murder because too many things could go wrong.

Cody Haevischer and Matt Johnston are on trial in the execution-style murder of six people in a Surrey high rise in 2007.
