Several suites damaged after Surrey apartment fire

By

SURREY (NEWS1130) – Another apartment fire in the Lower Mainland has forced people from their homes.

Some tenants of a Surrey complex will be out for awhile after a fire started in one of the suites of the Holly Park Lane complex late this morning.

The fire department thinks it started in a fireplace; Deputy Chief Karen Fry says roughly a quarter of the suites have smoke or water damage, but thankfully, there are no injuries.

“At this point, we haven’t had an opportunity to go in and look at all the units to do an evaluation on it. We will be activating our Emergency Social Services for any of the displaced residents for three days,” she tells us.

Tenants, some of whom came home after being called at work, boarded a bus today as they await word on the condition of their suites.
