The Canucks struck down by the Lightning

Tampa Bay, FL (NEWS1130) – Alex Burrows scored twice and added an assist in the third period of but it wasn’t enough to rally the Canucks past the Lightning as Vancouver fell 4-3 at the Tampa Bay Times Forum.
Jannik Hansen also had a goal in the losing effort for Vancouver.
It appeared that there would be no luck of the Irish at all for the Canucks on this St. Patrick’s Day as the Lightning jumped out to a lead of 3-0 on goals by Steven Stamkos, Ondrej Palat and Valterri Filppula.
Burrows would give the Canucks some life early in the final period on a power play by burying the rebound off a Kevin Bieksa shot and past Tampa Bay goaltender Ben Bishop to cut the lead to 3-1.
The Lightning would restore a three-goal lead moments later with Tom Pyatt capitalizing on a sloppy Canucks play, snapping a bad angled shot past Eddie Lack.
Burrows would get the Canucks back within two after a Nicklas Jensen shot deflected in off him. He would then set up Hansen on a shorthanded breakaway pulling the Canucks within a goal but that would be as close as Vancouver would manage to get.
Lack stopped 26 of 30 shots in the loss. Bishop made 25 saves on 28 shots in the win for the Lightning.
Defenceman Chris Tanev did not return after the first period. He was spotted after the game with his right hand in a full wrap sporting a splint. The team has yet to confirm his injury.
The Canucks return home to host the Nashville Predators on Wednesday night.
