NORTH VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – A man from New Westminster was robbed at gunpoint when he tried to buy a laptop off Craigslist.
It happened on Friday night near Edgemont Village in North Vancouver.
The victim had been texting with the seller and when he showed up, the suspect pulled out a gun and stole 675 dollars.
Corporal Richard DeJong with North Van RCMP says this is a good reminder to be careful when buying off Craigslist.
“You really don’t know who you may be dealing with. We always say to trust your instincts, use some common sense, maybe meet the potential seller in a very public place where other people may be around.”
The victim immediately called police and the 19-year-old suspect was arrested a short time later.
