Fatal shooting in Richmond

RICHMOND (NEWS 1130) – The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team has been called in after a man was shot at a busy Richmond strip mall yesterday evening.
It happened just after 6 p.m. in the Ironwood Plaza on Steveston Highway. The man was rushed to the hospital but died a few hours later. He has been identified as 56-year-old Amarjit Singh Sandhu.
Sandhu was a prominent developer in the Lower Mainland, and police say they are now looking into his business history to see if there is a connection.
Staff Sgt. Jennifer Pound says the shooting happened in a very public setting and called the act selfish and cold.
Both the Richmond RCMP Serious Crimes Unit and Forensic team are gathering evidence while IHIT canvasses the area for surveillance footage and witness accounts.
No suspects have been arrested.
