VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – 2018 was a record-breaking year at Vancouver airport.
25.9 million passengers went through YVR, up 7.3 per cent from a year earlier.
Part of the credit is going to Air Canada, which added flights to 15 cities last year, ten of them going to new destinations.
The airport also points out its rates and charges program includes rates lower than any other major airport in Canada and competing American airports.
They also reported an increase in international traffic, up by 8.5 per cent.
The airport also moved 338,000 tonnes of cargo.
YVR predicts the number will rise to 29 million passengers next year and 32 million by 2022.
