White Rock city council reviewing Marine Drive parking costs

WHITE ROCK (NEWS 1130) – Visiting White Rock’s waterfront is a staple summer to-do for many Lower Mainlanders, and the city is deciding how much it’s now going to cost visitors to park there.

City council is expected to vote Monday evening on some new proposed rates after debate over how to bring more people to the area during cooler times of the year.

If the proposal goes through, it would be free to park during the week between November and February and $2 on the weekends.

But it would go up to $4 an hour in high-demand areas between April and September.

In October and March, drivers would pay $2 a day.

The item will be up for discussion and a vote at a city council meeting on June 10.
