BURNABY (NEWS 1130) — Days after she showed up at a RCMP detachment, the 11-year-old Samoyed, Sakura, has been reunited with her family.
According to the Burnaby RCMP, the fluffy pup is safely back at home cozying up with her feline friend, Oreo.
Mounties had initially given the lost dog the name Snow when she stayed with them over the weekend after her New Year’s Eve arrival at the station.
She had been in the care of the BC SPCA since Sunday, while police and many people online shared her story, hoping to find who she belongs to.
By Monday, with help from the SPCA, Sakura made it back home, with many thanks coming from her family, police say.
“They heard from many neighbours and friends that all of you were sharing this story,” reads a tweet from the Burnaby RCMP. “They felt so much love.”
