Man wearing ‘Flash’ mask brandishes sword, steals Magic cards from New West store

NEW WESTMINSTER (NEWS 1130) – Police in New Westminster are looking for a man they say brought a sword into a store last week and stole game cards.

Police say on Feb. 2, workers at T&N Games saw the suspect put several ‘Magic the Gathering’ card bundles into a bag. When an employee confronted him, police say “he brandished a curved sword” and then ran away.

Police say the suspect was wearing a red and yellow face mask with the lightning logo of The Flash on it.

A post on T&N Games – Royal City Centre on Facebook included security images of someone the store says “shoplifted a number of Magic Bundles then pulled out a machete when questioned by staff.”

It appears no one was hurt.

The suspect is described as a white man who is between 20 and 40 years old. He had a bandage on his left hand. In addition to the mask, police say he was wearing a dark-coloured rain jacket with a hood, a dark t-shirt, grey pants, and white runners with dark colored laces. He was carrying a large, blue Costco brand cooler bag.
