Large truck catches fire near Delta’s Alex Fraser Bridge

DELTA (NEWS 1130) — A large truck caught on fire near the Alex Fraser Bridge in Delta, sending a large plume of thick, black smoke across the Lower Mainland.

Delta police were on scene along Swenson Way assisting firefighters around 8:30 p.m. Thursday, and said they did not believe anyone had been injured.

The smoke was causing a visible distraction for those driving over the Alex Fraser Bridge, but the fire has since been put out and the sky has cleared.
