VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – An investigation has been launched after “several hundred pounds of fresh halibut” was found dumped near a boat launch in Vancouver last week.
It’s not clear who left the fish near Vanier Park or why, but the city says it was first notified about the discarded halibut on Thursday, Sept. 2.
The Department of Fisheries and Oceans has been called in and is now looking into the matter. It tells NEWS 1130 the incident is being followed up by the DFO’s Conservation and Protection Unit.
