WEST VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) — One of the four closely-contested ridings which had been too close to call in B.C. is now official.
Elections Canada has confirmed Liberal Patrick Weiler has been re-elected in West Vancouver-Sunshine Coast-Sea to Sky.
Weiler had been in a tight race with Conservative John Weston.
However, with all the mail-ins now counted, Weiler has come out on top with just under 34-percent of the vote — compared to Weston’s 30 per cent.
This was a battle that also saw Weiler up against political scion Avi Lewis, grandson of former federal NDP leader David Lewis and son of former Ontario New Democrat Stephen Lewis.
