It was a busy night for Mounties in Burnaby, where the RCMP reports 10 drivers were taken off the roads Sunday for driving without a licence.
Two drivers received indefinite driving prohibitions after the RCMP says they were “repeatedly caught” driving without a licence.
Overall, officers handed out 27 violation tickets during the blitz.
Driving without a driver’s licence can result in serious consequences.

For a first offence, police will issue a ticket and not permit you to continue driving, according to the province.
A second offence can result in the vehicle you were driving being impounded for seven days — regardless of whether you own it or not — as well as a driving prohibition until you get a valid B.C. licence, meet all licensing requirements, and pay your fines.
If you’re caught driving without a licence another time, “police will charge you with ‘driving while prohibited.'”
“It’s an offence punishable by a $500 fine and up to six months in jail for a first offence,” the province says.
