COVID-19: B.C. reports no new deaths, hospitalizations remain steady

As the Omicron variant of COVID-19 continues to race through B.C. communities, the province’s daily status report had a bit of a silver lining Tuesday. No new deaths were recorded, after a weekend when dozens of lives were lost.

There are still 986 people hospitalized with COVID-19, little changed compared to Monday. However, the number of patients in the ICU rose slightly from 141 to 146.

The province recorded 1,117 new COVID-19 cases. However, the actual number of new cases is likely much higher as testing demand exceeds supply.
