Police investigating three non-fatal shootings in less than week: VPD

Vancouver police are looking into three separate non-lethal shootings that occurred in the city in less than a week.

Early Thursday morning a woman was found with gunshot wounds on the Downtown Eastside.

Officers found a “badly injured” 39-year-old woman near Main and East Cordova Street around 1 a.m. after she asked a passerby for help.

VPD provided first aid when they arrived, and the woman is now in the hospital with serious injuries.

Police say they believe the shooting happened in the area. but have not been able to get more information from the victim because of her injuries.

On Sunday, officers were called to a building near West Pender and Richards Street around midnight after reports that a man had entered the building and shot someone.

The victim, a 34-year-old man, fled with non-life-threatening injuries and was later found on the Downtown Eastside.

Two days later, a 38-year-old man was shot outside his home near Commercial Drive and Graveley Street. His injuries are also non-threatening.

Police say no arrests have been made and they are investigating to see if the shootings are connected.
