South Surrey shooting leaves 1 man dead

They say it happened at around 11 p.m. when RCMP responded to shots fired near 166 Street and 19 Avenue.

A man with serious injuries was found, they add. RCMP say the 37-year-old man has died of his injuries, and IHIT is now working the case.

“Several people were detained by police following the incident, and police are working to determine who may have been involved in the shooting,” said a RCMP statement.

Police are still conducting a search of the area and are looking to speak to any witnesses.

“The investigation is still in its early stages, but initial indications are that this is an isolated incident and involves parties known to each other.”
