B.C.’s ‘most wanted’ criminals unveiled by Metro Vancouver Crime Stoppers

Metro Vancouver Crime Stoppers has unveiled B.C.’s six “most wanted” criminals in its annual Valentine’s Day-themed campaign.

The non-profit organization takes anonymous crime tips from the public and then sends them to the police, with the goal of helping officers arrest suspects.

“All six ‘valentines’ on this year’s list are wanted for serious crimes ranging from attempted murder and manslaughter to producing controlled substances,” Linda Annis, Executive Director of Metro Vancouver Crime Stoppers said.

Annis says at the top of their list is 34-year-old Rabih Alkhalil, who broke out of the North Fraser Pretrial Centre in Port Coquitlam last July. He is wanted for conspiracy to commit murder.

The group says tips that “lead to the arrest and charge of any wanted criminal can lead to a reward of up to $5,000,” but in the case of Crime Stoppers’ top suspect, it could lead to a reward of up to
$250,000.

The second on the list is Jemroi AlundayIbarra, who is wanted for the production of a controlled substance.

Third on the list is Kevin Asi Gonzales, who is wanted for the production of a controlled substance.

Fourth is Duc Quan Phung, who is wanted for the production of a controlled substance and for possessing a controlled drug/substance for the purpose of trafficking.

Fifth is Drayton James Steinhauer, who is wanted for manslaughter, break and enter, and robbery.

Sixth on the list is Ricky Korasak, who is wanted for attempted murder, accessory, and aggravated assault, accessory.

“Someone, somewhere knows where these people are and we’re urging them to do the right thing and call Crime Stoppers anonymously,” Annis said.

Annis adds the organization received over 4,000 anonymous tips last year that led to dozens of arrests, and $1.4 million in property and illicit drugs recovered.

“Your anonymity is guaranteed by the Supreme Court of Canada. You’ll never be questioned or called to testify,” she added.
