What should replace the Pacific Buffet? BC Ferries launches new survey

BC Ferries is asking for input on what to replace its Pacific Buffet spaces with for sailings between Tsawwassen and Swartz Bay.
The ferry service made the decision to cancel its all-you-can-eat buffet on the route, but now, it’s asking for help deciding what to put there instead.
Previous ideas included a sports bar, casino, gym and spa, or using the area for weddings or reception spaces.
However, those didn’t cut it for various reasons including demand, the service notes.

According to the transportation company, there were just over 432,000 buffet meals sold to over 4.8 million passengers on the Tsawwassen-Swartz Bay routes in 13 months leading up to March of 2020. It represents just under nine per cent of passengers partaking in the buffet.
Ferries says the buffet was ended due in part to the COVID-19 pandemic and supply chain challenges.
