BC Green Party deputy leader removed for liking ‘inappropriate’ X post

BC Green Party Leader Sonia Furstenau says she has removed the party’s deputy leader, claiming he liked a post on X that featured what she calls “an inappropriate comparison.”
Furstenau says Dr. Sanjiv Gandhi liked a post that compared B.C. Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry to Josef Mengele, a German physician who is known for performing deadly experiments on prisoners in concentration camps during the Second World War.
“I find this unacceptable and I have removed Dr. Gandhi as deputy leader and accepted his resignation as a candidate,” she said.
Gandhi’s profile was removed from the BC Green Party website within an hour after Furstenau’s post.
That page now displays a message saying, “The page you were looking for was not found.”
