Hullo cancels all Sunday ferry sailings due to storm damage, mechanical issue

The Vancouver-to-Nanaimo fast ferry service Hullo has cancelled all its Sunday sailings, citing weather damage on one of its vessels after a windstorm Saturday morning as well as mechanical issues on a separate ferry.

The cancellations had originally only affected Saturday sailings, but this was extended Saturday afternoon.

All guests on cancelled trips will be issued a refund, according to Hullo’s website.

The company, which launched in August, operates a high-speed route between Nanaimo and Vancouver.

Hullo had cancelled its planned inaugural voyages on Aug. 14 due to weather concerns, saying this was done because of a strong storm the night before that had caused power outages.
