An injured hiker was found on a mountain trail near Lions Bay on Wednesday afternoon.
The North Shore Rescue (NSR) says it “extracted” a hiker who had injured her knee when she “slid down a gully” while hiking Mount Hanover.
It says a mutual aid call was made to assist Lions Bay Search and Rescue (LB SAR), and Talon helicopters were integrated for the search.
“The heli-crew located the group, then staged at the top of the gully,” NSR said in a social media post.
NSR says an LB SAR member who is also an ER physician provided first aid to the hiker.
“She was then long-lined out of the gully to Lions Bay,” it said.
The rescue team says “the rest of the party and their dog” were also taken out of the gully by helicopter.

NSR has not said how many people were rescued in total.
