1 in hospital after shooting in Coquitlam

Police in Coquitlam are investigating after a shooting sent one person to hospital Monday evening.

The Coquitlam RCMP says it responded to a report of a shooting near Westwood Street and Como Lake Avenue around 7 p.m.

“One victim was located and transported to hospital suffering from non-life-threatening injuries,” Mounties said Tuesday.

Police say they have not made any arrests but believe the safety of the general public is not at risk.

The investigation has been reportedly taken over by the RCMP General Investigation Section.
