Crews search for missing passenger after vehicle driven off road into Squamish River

The RCMP says one person is missing after a single-vehicle collision that resulted in the vehicle being driven off road into the Squamish River.
Police say that on Saturday at 5 a.m., a crews were called out to the crash. There had been four people in the vehicle.
“One of the passengers was unaccounted for,” the RCMP said in a news release.
“The three passengers were able to get to safety.”
The vehicle is also missing.
“RCMP, the fire department, along with Search and Rescue personnel, all attempted to locate both the vehicle and unaccounted for passenger,” the Squamish RCMP said in a news release just before 2 p.m. Sunday.
“However, as of June 15, have been unable to locate either.”
BC Emergency Health Services tells 1130 NewsRadio they responded to a call about a vehicle in the water along Squamish Valley Road around 3 a.m. Saturday.
“Two ambulances were dispatched, and paramedics provided medical care to three patients on scene,” BCEHS said.
“No patients were transported to hospital.”
As of late Sunday afternoon, search and rescue crews were continuing to look for the missing person and vehicle.
