“One adult male victim was located and treated for non-life-threatening injuries,” said a statement that week.

Mounties say the second assault took place shortly after in the same area.

“A youth victim was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries, where they remain in serious condition.”

The Chilliwack RCMP has determined that while both assaults involve the same suspects, the victims are unrelated.

In an update Thursday, police say a video shows a vehicle in the area at the time of the first incident.

“Investigators believe the occupants of this vehicle may have seen or heard something significant and could provide critical information.”

Mounties describe the vehicle as a “newer-model, mid-size grey SUV,” which was seen travelling east on Wells Road between 2 and 2:30 a.m. on May 3, and briefly stopped just before Vedder Road.
