Shots fired at a Langley home overnight, police say

A family in Langley is in shock – after their house was the target of a wave of gunfire overnight early Friday morning. They say they’ve never received any threats before – and believe this to be a case of mistaken identity. Jack Rabb has more.

The Langley RCMP says it is investigating a shots-fired incident that took place early Friday.

Police say they were called to a home on 46A Avenue near 215 Street shortly after 12:30 a.m.

When they arrived, officers found evidence of shots being fired.

“Fortunately, no individuals were injured as a result of this incident; however, property damage was reported,” said Sgt. Zynal Sharoom.

“Investigators have since been working to gather evidence, canvass the area for witnesses, and review any available surveillance footage to further the investigation.”

Sharoom says investigators are working to determine if the incident is related to extortion or gangs.

Anyone who may have information or dash cam footage from the area is asked to call the Langley RCMP at 604-532-3200 and refer to file 2026-18231.

“Even seemingly minor details may assist investigators in advancing the file.”
