“Terry Fox’s courage, determination, and selflessness have inspired generations of Canadians,” says Sgt. Adriana O’Malley, Coquitlam RCMP Media Relations Officer.

“I have to be honest, when I first saw it I felt sick to my stomach and it’s still hard to imagine that anyone would do such a thing,” said Port Coquitlam mayor, Brad West.
West says that a plastic substance was melted over the top of the statue.
“This wasn’t just any statue, this is a statue of our hometown hero.”
