Cyclist taken to hospital after collision with vehicle in Surrey

Editor’s note: the current version of this story has been updated to reflect the correct location of the incident.

A cyclist was taken to hospital after a collision with a vehicle in South Surrey Sunday, the Surrey Police Service (SPS) says.

Police say they were called to the area of 154 Street and 24 Avenue around 2 p.m.

“The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene,” Staff Sgt. Lindsey Houghton told CityNews.

“There is no indication of cause at this early stage.”

BC Emergency Health Services says two ambulances were dispatched to the scene. One patient was taken to hospital in critical condition, it says, but it did not clarify whether it was the cyclist or the driver due to patient privacy.

We have reached out to police for an update.
