Surrey police warn residents of high-risk offender living in community

The Surrey Police Service (SPS) is warning the public that a designated high-risk offender will be living in the city.
Jonathan Anders Muzychka has a history of violence towards people and property crime, police say.
Muzychka is 49 years old and is six-foot-one with a medium build. He has short brown hair, brown eyes, and facial stubble, SPS says.
He is currently on a court order with numerous conditions, including:
- keeping the peace and being “of good behaviour”;
- not being absent from home more than 24 hours without permission;
- remaining in B.C.;
- not being in contact with any of his victims or their families;
- not consuming alcohol or any controlled substances; and
- not possessing any weapons or knives.
Muzychka wears an electronic monitoring device. He has a curfew of 10 p.m. to 6 a.m., police say.
“Investigators from SPS’s Prolific Offender Unit will continue to monitor and ask anyone who sees him breaching his release conditions to immediately call 911,” police said.
