VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) -Vancouver Police are questioning three people following a bizarre downtown incident this afternoon.
Officers were called to a building near Robson and Hamilton around lunchtime, where a witness reported a naked woman inside a closed store.
Police surrounded the store, but the woman and two men on the inside were uncooperative. Investigators contacted a store representative, who said the store was closed and no one should be inside. In the end, the representative was one of the people inside the store.
The woman, the store representative, and another man were eventually taken into custody and are now being questioned.
LISTEN: Constable Brian Montague explains what unfolded
“Nobody appears to be injured (but) the woman has been taken to the hospital to be checked over. She appears to be under the influence at this point,” explains Constable Brian Montague.
“We don’t know what we have. It’s possible we’ve disrupted a sexual assault that was in progress, but it’s still too early to say.”
It’s still unclear what exactly happened, as Montague says it’s still quite early in the investigation.
