VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) — It seems some drugstores are already struggling after Tuesday’s announcement from the province, allowing those aged 55 to 65 to get the AstraZeneca vaccine at pharmacies in the Fraser Health and Vancouver Coastal Health region.
London Drugs has gotten an “overwhelming response,” with all available vaccine appointments — at three locations — booked up just hours after the province announced vaccines will be available.
“We ask that customers refrain from calling our pharmacies directly to allow for the pharmacies to prepare for the vaccination process of the fully booked appointments,” a tweet from London Drugs reads.
London Drugs says all available appointments are fully booked. This comes after an announcement that people 55-65 on the Lower Mainland could register to get a #COVID19 vaccine starting Wednesday. https://t.co/QjQRkNyDi8

The announcement is being made, even though the province had announced that appointments would be available to book for people as of Wednesday.
While the province has said 150 pharmacies will be free to administer the vaccines, a specific list of vaccination sites has not been released.
