Power restored in Port Coquitlam after BC Hydro outage Sunday

PORT COQUITLAM (NEWS 1130) — BC Hydro has now restored power to roughly 8,000 customers in Port Coquitlam.
The outage began around 6 p.m. Sunday and the power came back on shortly after 11 p.m.

The largest outage cluster was west of Brown Street, South East of Lougheed Highway, and North of Palisade Crescent, affecting nearly 6,300 customers.
Another roughly 1,500 customers further south to the Mary Hill Bypass were affected starting at 4:30 p.m Sunday.
A representative from BC Hydro tells NEWS 1130, crews working to get power restored faced delays.
BC Hydro reported record power usage on Saturday but no word yet if the ongoing heat wave is to blame.
