Deadly stabbing in East Vancouver, police urge ‘extra vigilance’

A 37-year-old man has died in what police say is Vancouver’s 10th homicide of the year.
The man was allegedly stabbed in East Vancouver near Renfrew and Graveley Streets Wednesday night, and police responded after a witness called 911 around 9:45 p.m.
The man was taken to hospital where police say he later died from his injuries.

No arrests have been made.
“It is unknown at this time what the motive was for this stabbing, and whether this was a random or targeted incident” VPD Const. Tania Visintin said. “Until we know more, we’ve encouraging people to be extra vigilant.”
Anyone with dash cam or CCTV footage in the area between 9:30 and 10:30 p.m. on Wednesday, or anyone with information that could assist investigators, is asked to call the Vancouver Police Homicide Unit at 604-717-2500.
