There’s a good chance you’ll be driving in the snow if you’re travelling to the Interior from Metro Vancouver for this long weekend.
CityNews Meteorologist Michael Kuss says we should expect a series of storms starting Thursday night.
Kuss says it is going to be cold from 1,000 to 1,100 metres which means five to 15 cm of snow will accumulate along the highways, such as the Coquihalla Highway, through to Saturday morning.
While this may a concern for drivers, skiers and snowboarders can look forward to snow at resorts.
“Good news, this looks like the first serious blast of winter for Whistler,” said Kuss.
Kuss explains snow will be seen above 1,000 metres with the potential for 60+ cm of snow into Monday.
Whistler Village is expected to see a mixed precipitation of snow and rain.
Kuss says the interior hills like Big White will also see snow.
