Crashes cause congestion northbound before Alex Fraser Bridge

Two crashes on Highway 91 caused major delays northbound towards New Westminster via the Alex Fraser Bridge Wednesday morning.

Callers to 1130 NewsRadio first reported the crashes, which straddled either side of 72 Avenue in Delta, around 6:15 a.m.

To the south, one crashed vehicle was occupying the right shoulder. Another crash to the north had the left lane blocked.

Delays continued, but shortly after 7 a.m., DriveBC announced that the crash had cleared and all lanes had reopened.

Delays in Delta extended from the Truck Pullout all the way to Nordel Way.

Drivers were advised to take Highway 99 to the George Massey Tunnel or Nordel Way to avoid the worst of congestion.
