In an update just before noon, the AbbyPD confirmed the incident is being investigated as a homicide.
Sgt. Paul Walker says first responders discovered the man suffering from gunshot wounds in a vehicle. Despite life-saving efforts, the 68-year-old man died from his injuries.
The AbbyPD has handed over the investigation to the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT).

Police have the area and local roads blocked off. The AbbyPD says a “significant police presence” will remain there as the investigation continues.
Walker says it’s too early to confirm a motive or if the shooting was connected to extortion crimes, but he did confirm that police believe it was a targeted incident.
Police are asking witnesses to contact the IHIT Infoline at 1-877-551-4448.
