About Ben

A born and raised Vancouverite, Ben is a graduate of the BCIT Broadcast Journalism program. Ben first came to 1130 NewsRadio as an intern in the fall of 2023 where he discovered a passion for breaking news, and reporting on stories that matter to the community. He joined the 1130 team part time after graduating school in summer 2024, advancing to a full time reporter and anchor in spring 2025. Ben has worked on many local and international stories in his time, including the Lapu-Lapu Day tragedy in Vancouver, and the Oct. 7 attacks on Israel. When Ben isn't chasing stories in the newsroom, he enjoys playing piano, finding a good deal on an old vinyl record, and going on a long walk in nature.
