About Charlie

Charlie first joined News 1130 in 2021 as a Web Editor/Reporter and became 1130 NewsRadio/CityNews Vancouver Digital Team Lead in 2024. A graduate of RMIT University and Langara College, in their time as a journalist, they have earned a Read-Mercer Fellowship, previously reported for the North Shore News, and have won multiple RTDNA awards. Charlie has led digital coverage of provincial and national elections, the Lapu-Lapu Day festival attack, and the ongoing unregulated toxic drug supply crisis. When not working, Charlie enjoys camping, coffee, vintage cars, and adventures with their rescue supermutt, Lu. They are grateful to be a guest in unceded xʷməθkʷəy̓əm, Sḵwx̱wú7mesh, and səl̓ilw̓ətaɬ territories.
