About Kate
Kate was born and raised in Halifax, Nova Scotia, where she studied French immersion before spending a year abroad in Costa Rica to learn Spanish.
After graduating from Western University and Fanshawe College in London, Ontario, she started her career behind-the-scenes with CTV in Toronto and later began her first on-air anchor role at CityNews 680 (then 680 NEWS).
She returned to the east coast in 2018 to become a VJ with CTV Atlantic, where she was one of the team's winners of the RTDNA Award for Best TV Newscast: Fire & Smoke - Refinery Explosion Shakes City in Saint John, NB.
Kate later went on to produce and host a digital newscast with The SaltWire Network. She enjoys covering the crime beat, sports, social justice stories with a focus on marginalized communities, as well as feel-good features. She also has a strong interest in documentary work.
When she's not working, Kate loves to work out, travel the world, and play basketball. She also loves a good stand-up comedy show.
