About Michelle
Michelle Meiklejohn joined 1130 News Radio as an anchor/producer and reporter in 2024, following a successful stint with several current affairs shows at CBC Radio One.
Michelle holds a Master of Journalism degree from UBC's School of Journalism, Writing, and Media, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications Studies from Concordia University. Before starting on her journalism career, she worked as a copywriter at a marketing company and at the UN Migration Agency in Accra, Ghana. As a grad student, she also completed an internship with CBC's Health Unit during the COVID-19 pandemic.
She has earned several accolades, including an award from the Association of Health Care Journalists and an RTDNA award. She was also a fellow at UBC's Global Reporting Program and earned a Mitacs Fellowship at the Global Reporting Centre, where she is currently responsible for communications and audience engagement.
In her free time, you can find Michelle hopping on a ferry to Vancouver Island to visit her family or enjoying ice cream (regardless of the season).
