Highway 17 in Surrey has reopened after a vehicle fire forced closures late Sunday into Monday.
The RCMP says calls about a semi-truck engulfed in flames came in just before 10 p.m.
The truck was headed west along Highway 17 near Old Yale Road when the driver started to smell smoke and pulled over.

The semi sustained major damage. The fire also led to a large diesel spill, forcing Mounties to shut the highway down in both directions between Old Yale and Tannery roads until an environmental cleanup could be done.
Work has since completed and Highway 17 is once again open to traffic both westbound and eastbound.
Major backups have been reported through the morning commute. You can take Scott Road as an alternate route.
