Ironworkers Bridge to North Vancouver reopens after vehicle fire

The Ironworkers Memorial Bridge was blocked northbound between Vancouver and North Vancouver Thursday afternoon after a vehicle caught fire midspan.

Emergency crews temporarily blocked all northbound lanes and one southbound lane while responding to the fire.

Delays continue, but northbound traffic along Highway 1 was backed up all the way to the intersection with Willingdon Avenue.

Callers to 1130 NewsRadio reported that the bridge had cleared around 1 p.m.
